  1. Relay team of 6 athletes, consisting of 3 mountain bikers and 3 runners, competing against the Ceres Rail Company Steam Train
  1. Solo athlete competing against the Ceres Rail Company Steam Train (limited to 100 athletes only)


Teams: Male, Female, Mixed (3/3), Corporate (any gender mix), Schools (Male, Female, Mixed), Universities (Male, Female, Mixed)               

Solo: overall Male and Female (Solo category limited to 100 athletes only)


Leg 1:    Wellington to Malan Station/Malanstasie (run – 8km)
Leg 2:    Malan Station/Malanstasie to Hermon Station (MTB – 20km)
Leg 3:    Hermon Station to Gouda Station (MTB – 20km)
Leg 4:    Gouda Station to Tulbagh Road Station (run – 8km)
Leg 5:    Tulbagh Road Station to Waverley Hills Farm (MTB – 22km)
Leg 6:    Waverley Hills Farm to Ceres Golf Club (run – 12km)


Team members’ transport to the handover points is the team’s own responsibility.
On-route seconding by support teams will not be allowed. Any team found to transgress this rule will promptly be disqualified/expelled from the route.
Supporters to follow R44 and utilise hand-over/viewing points to support their respective teams or solo athletes.
Solo athletes to have one support vehicle to transport the athlete’s mountain bike to Malanstasie and Tulbaghweg.
Cut-offs will be enforced on route to ensure participants’ safety.


Teams: R350 per person – R2 100 per team (includes goody bag, medal for each team member)
Solo: R1 000 (includes goody bag, medal and special event memorabilia)

Entry fee includes race entry, goody bag, medal and a free entry for the participant and one supporter to the entertainment park which will include live entertainment, food and drinks stalls and a fun-filled entertainment village for the kids.


Participants are encouraged to bring along a new or second-hand book for our book initiative. Sponsored containers will be place at local schools and the aim is to fill the containers up with these books, serving as much-needed libraries.
Books will be collected during registration.

You can also donate R50 or more to the Breyton Paulse Foundation when you enter online and stand a chance to win a 4-ball golf outing to the Ceres Golf and Eco Estate, with Breyton Paulse, yourself and two friends.
